Andy Warhol
Andy Warhol was born on August 6, 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As a child he was diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder and spent a lot of his time reading popular celebrity magazines and DC comic books. He moved to New York City and graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1949 with a degree in Pictorial Design. Shortly after be began working for several clients as a commercial artist and eventually, in 1952, he had his fist solo exhibition. In the early 60s he also began to make films. Warhol produced paintings, sculptures, prints, films, and even dabbled in the worlds of fashion and music. He died after undergoing gall bladder surgery on February 22, 1987.
